Nineteen Fortresses

Statia has a total of nineteen fortresses, some of which have been restored. Fort Oranje is the most famous of these, also because it is located in Oranjestad. From the various strongholds you have a phenomenal view of the neighboring islands. Especially the view from Fort de Windt on Saint Kitts is truly breathtaking.
